'lipstick on a pig' comment referred to McCain economic policy: Obama
Labels: Top NewsDemocratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday he was talking about Arizona Sen. John McCain's economic policies, not Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin when he made comments Tuesday using the adage "lipstick on a pig."
Palin joked at the Republican Convention earlier this month about lipstick being the difference between pit bulls and hockey moms. Palin, the governor of Alaska, is a self-described hockey mom.
The McCain campaign jumped on Obama's lipstick comment, running a TV ad in key markets calling it "sexist."..
