People wanting to check the status of their building plan applications submitted to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) can from Thursday log on to the agency's website and collect the details.

Taking the first step towards e-governance , CMDA would computerise scrutiny of applications for special buildings (ground plus three floors). CMDA member secretary Vikram Kapur said a software approved by the National Informatics Centre was being used for the purpose.
