Nano Singur: Mamata accuses Bengal Govt of breaking promise

Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee walked out of a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee claiming the government was not honouring its deal of returning 300 acres of land inside the Tata Nano plant to the Singur farmers.

Mamata, who has been leading a agitation against the Nano project in Singur, said that the talks with Buddhadeb on Friday evening to resolve the Singur imbroglio failed to yield any positive result.

She refused to accept the report prepared by the land review committee which proposed that 70 acres of land inside the plant would be returned to farmers and demanded that the West Bengal Government honour its deal of returning 300 acres of land inside the plant to the farmers....
