Truck Owners Srike in Karnataka from October 1

Bangalore, Sep 30: Owners of trucks and other commercial vehicles on Saturday stepped on the accelerator to resist the government's move to mandatorily introduce speed governors, though their stance flies in the face of safety norms.

Karnataka Maxi Cab and Motor Cab Owners' Welfare Association president Bhairava Siddaramaiah said a strict nono to speed governors. "Some vehicles aren't compatible with speed governors. We can't install them.'' The association has given the government time till September 30 to relook at the decision. If no agreeable solution is found by then, they will decide on pulling vehicles off the road.....
